EU PROJECT UPDATES

EPG PROJECT - URGENT REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE

As mentioned in the previous update on projects, the EPG Project has now entered the crucial 'field-testing' stage, which continues only until 31st October. The aim is to gather feedback from teachers themselves, managers of teachers and teacher trainers on the descriptors in the pilot version of the Profiling Grid so that this can be further improved and made available to all potential users.

The project team is grateful that several EAQUALS members have offered to help with this and is responding to them individually.

We now ask all ALL EAQUALS accredited members in Europe to get your teachers to complete one of the on-line surveys. They are available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish, and all the links can be found here.

We particularly need TEACHERS OF ENGLISH to respond as 500 responses are required in total.  The links for the surveys in English are as follows:

Survey             Link

A                     https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EPG-ENsurvey_A

B                     https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EPG-ENsurvey_B

C                     https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EPG-ENsurvey_C

D                     https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EPG-ENsurvey_D

Please pass on ONE link to each teacher using each link the same number of times (for example, if you have 12 teachers, give link A to 3 of them, B to 3, C to 3 and D to 3). Then please check with them one week later whether they have done the survey. Thank you in advance with your assistance with this.

NELLIP PROJECT - UPDATE

Project partners have now completed their work on the databases of projects they have selected as good examples of those that have been awarded the European Language Label over the last few years. The database can be found at http://nellip.pixel-online.org/DB_database.php. By clicking on any of the projects you can find out more about them. The current task is to create case studies of some of these projects by contacting the project organisers and finding out in more detail why they started the project, how they worked and what they have achieved, and also asking the national agency concerned why the project was selected for an award.

OTHER PROJECTS

EAQUALS Inspector Training going online

EAQUALS has been considering how to make Inspector training shorter in length and not dependent on attendance at face to face sessions at conference.

From September 3 - November 4 six participants will take part in an pilot programme which will be online. The programme covers all the areas that the face to face sessions covered with the addition of a Cultural Awareness block. Once the online training is successfully completed each course participant needs to attend the conference immediately following the training programme. At the conference they are expected to attend two face to face sessions. One session just for the trainees which will be feedback on the experience of online training and the other can be any other session on offer to inspectors. This is the preparation for the final part of the training which is 'On the Job' with an experienced inspector as mentor

Feedback will be gathered for the course participants and the tutors involved in the pilot programme. This feedback will be used to implement any necessary changes before launching the programme officially in January 2013.

MEMBERS AND PROJECT PARTNERS OF EAQUALS ARE INVITED TO SEND IN INFORMATION ABOUT CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS THEY ARE ORGANISING.
